Emma & Todd | Blake Hall

The lovely Emma and Todd were one of my postponement couples, however, this pair apparently decided to keep themselves busy. Not content with the usual baking and house redecoration the rest of us got up to…these two decided to go one better and make a little human during lockdown! A rather cute one, at that. Given I mainly drank tea and ate biscuits, I’m not going to lie, beautiful Teddy made me feel like a bit of a lockdown under-achiever! Just look at that little face!

Although the stress of postponements is never nice for anyone, I can’t tell you how lovely it was to photograph this couple with their little lockdown love, and give them not only wedding photographs, but family photographs to treasure, too. They are just the SWEETEST family you’ll ever come across and from beginning to end they treated me not as a supplier but as one of their friends.

These guys chose the stunning Blake Hall as the setting for their wedding, with beautifully restored 17th century barns and 60 acres of sprawling gardens and parkland. The latter worked out particularly well for us, because after a season of grey and rainy weddings we FINALLY got a break in the clouds and a fleeting but spectacular golden hour. As a photographer, there is not much better than a couple that trust you when you notice good light and I think the reward of these photos speaks for itself. It might have only been a brief 2 minutes of sunshine, but boy did we get the shot!

Emma wore an absolutely stunning gown by Stella York from Brides of Berko with a beautiful lace, embroidered overlay, and Todd scrubbed up pretty well too, only outdone by Teddy in his ridiculously cute waistcoat and flat-cap (Oh. My. Heart)

I have to admit, there is something really special about watching my “Covid couples” finally get married and to see these guys do it as a family, really was next level. I’ve just been so incredibly lucky to get to work with the most understanding and patient of people this last year, and the addition of little Teddy was the icing on the cake for me at this wedding!

I really hope you all enjoy these photographs as much as I enjoyed taking them, I’m wishing this amazing little family so much love and happiness as they take the next step of their lives together.

Thank you so much Emma and Todd, for choosing me to share your day. It was an absolute blast!
