The one with ALL the glam | Blake Hall Wedding Photographer

Well, wedding season is most definitely back in full swing (never been more grateful for anything in my life, even if my feet are paying the price!) and kicking off a crazy few weeks for me, with back-to-back weddings, were the lovely Casey and Lewis.

Casey got ready in the Old Coach House, a quaint and delightful English cottage set in the grounds of their beautiful venue, Blake Hall. I always love photographing weddings here; it is such a great juxtaposition of old meets new. Gorgeous 17th century barns which have been converted to give couples both the classic elements that come with historical buildings, alongside a classy, modern and luxurious edge. Throw in the amazing gardens, and fabulous catering, you can see why I enjoy shooting here so much!

When people describe my style as a photographer, and probably as a person too, they tend to say I’m really chilled out and relaxed and I think that is one of the reasons I really enjoyed this wedding. Casey wore an absolutely beautiful dress by Maggie Sottero from Bellissima Wedding Shop, whilst Lewis donned a black-tie suit from Anthony’s, Billericay, and along with their bridal party and guests, they were just super relaxed and intent on enjoying their day. I think if the past 18 months have taught us anything, it is to really soak up life and all its special moments, and everyone at this wedding really seemed to have that vibe.

Given the summer we’ve had (dear God, please, someone make the rain stop…) these guys also lucked out on the weather front. Guests got to enjoy drinks on the lawn before an evening of entertainment from both the DJ and saxophonist later in the evening…just as a summer wedding should be!

And one of my favourite things about this wedding? The Grandparents. So. Many. Grandparents! You don’t often see that at a wedding and it was just the loveliest thing to watch multiple generations together, smiling, laughing, and celebrating another season of love.

So, a big thank you to Casey and Lewis for sharing your day with me. It is always such an honour to be chosen to capture your big day! You guys were such a pleasure, and I’m wishing you both a lifetime of love.

Blake Hall

It's no secret that Blake Hall is one of my favourite Essex Barn Wedding Venues. Blake Hall is situated in Ongar, with close links to the M11 & M25 but set within 60 acres of beautiful gardens & woodlands you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. It has an awesome team of staff, everything is onsite and its one of the very few Essex venues that works just as well in all weathers and seasons.

Blake Hall has 2 large barns and an outdoor saddlery for garden ceremonies. Receptions take place in the original Essex barn, with indoor ceremonies in the new Hay Barn, hands down one of the most beautiful ceremony locations in Essex with its floor to ceiling windows.

With everything being so close together, wedding days flow effortlessly and naturally. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff here and they are one of the best teams to work with so you can be safe in the knowledge your day will run perfectly.
