The "last minute but maybe it was meant to be" one

Ok, so it’s probably an obvious statement given my profession, but I love weddings. And… I love people. Want to know what I don’t love? Seeing people get let down, especially at the last minute. So, when Megan and Ollie contacted me at the eleventh hour, having had their photographer pull out suddenly, I knew no matter how busy I was, I’d find a way to help. So, with 2 days until their wedding, I dusted off my hero cape (I joke!) and stepped in to photograph their big day.

It’s funny how things work out, because although I wouldn’t wish that stress on any couple, I can’t help but feel I was meant to capture their big day. It certainly helped that even with everything that had gone on, Megan was one of the MOST CHILLED brides I have ever met. Quite how she remained so relaxed, I’ll never know, but she was an absolute dream.

This last-minute booking also meant that once again, I was back at beautiful Blake Hall (wahoo! We know how much I love a visit here!) as well as working for the second time in a week with The Orchid Room Flowers. Honestly, if you haven’t checked Caroline & her team out, then please do. Their work is epic and the flowers complimented Megan’s look perfectly. She looked absolutely gorgeous in a gown from Grace and Lace and I am also now the world’s biggest advocate for green bridesmaid dresses. Seriously, just look at those beauties!

There was amazing music throughout the entire day, 3 Mile Hill acoustic for the ceremony and drinks reception, a steel band during the meal and a DJ, sax, and vocal group in the evening who were all absolutely phenomenal. If you’re going to throw a party, then trust me, this is how you do it! It was a wedding that was full of good music, good food and SO MUCH LOVE and just when I thought I couldn’t love these guys any more, they threw in a mention for me in the speeches. Life made.

Megan and Ollie, I know this wasn’t the original plan for your big day but I am so glad I got to photograph you on your special day. I really hope you love the photographs as much as I loved taking them. Wishing you both a wonderful and happy life together, no less than you both deserve.
