“OH MY GOD!
They are our literal words, shouting in the car…
These are even better than I expected and I expected I LOVE them!”
This was just some of the conversation I had with Laura when I sent her and Andrew their first preview images. I don’t think I will ever stop getting those butterflies in my stomach when someone messages me about their wedding photos. I’m like the cat that got the cream…every damn time!
I kind of knew this was going to be a fun wedding when I opened up their questionnaire, got to the “any other suppliers” section and found a rather extensive list! There was the saxophonist, the DJ, the musician for during dinner, the décor, the photobooth and of course, the fireworks. I certainly didn’t rock up to this one expecting it to be dull, and it definitely didn’t disappoint!
They were married at the gorgeous Crondon Park, one of my favourite Essex barn venues, overlooking the Essex countryside with one of the nicest wedding teams I get to work with - they really are amazing! Laura wore a beautiful gown from Ladybird Bridal with a beautiful veil (blooming love a veil!) whilst Andrew wore a suit from Marc Darcy with shoes and accessories from Russell and Bromley, and Mont Blanc, respectively.
It was such a beautiful day all round, I could go on and on, but the thing I loved most about these two was the relationship we forged during the months leading up to their big day and I won’t lie, Laura’s messages after the wedding literally had me sobbing into a cuppa. So, in a move away from my usual ramblings, I thought I’d round up by sharing some of her words, instead of mine.
“Hello! I just wanted to say thank you, so, so much for everything yesterday. Not only for being there for the photos, which I already know will be stunning, but also for being a massive support from start to finish, helping me into my dress, organising, giving advice, being on hand to give honest opinions of whether I looked ok or need a touch up etc etc You were such a calming influence and I couldn’t have asked for a better photographer...I’m now claiming you as my life photographer, rather than my wedding photographer!”
Now, I’m not one to blow my own trumpet (genuinely, I’m not it's taken me 7 years to say out loud that I'm pretty good at this wedding photographer lark) but I think Laura sums me up here. I don’t claim to be the perfect photographer for everyone, but I am the perfect photographer for my clients and these relationships I build are really the best part of it all.
Laura and Andrew, you two are absolute gems! A massive congratulations and a big thank you for choosing me. I am so excited for the next step of your lives together… and hopefully being on hand to capture all of your future special moments!
