“I will follow you, my love,
to the edge of all our days,
to our very last tomorrows.”
It’s a funny thing how life sometimes conspires in our favour, especially when it comes to weddings! Emma and Richard had originally booked a viewing at Dove Barn Weddings sister venue Houchins, but after Emma accidentally entered the wrong postcode in their sat nav they ended up at the beautiful Dove Barns and immediately fell in love with the beautiful surroundings. This was a new venue for me and I could instantly see why they’d decided to adapt their initial plans. Described as ‘a romantic, rural wedding barn nestling among rolling wheat fields and rambling hedgerows’ it inhabited all the charm and character a photographer dreams of, and was the perfect backdrop for the most special of days.
Emma admitted to being nervous walking down the aisle, but her beautifully braided hair, dress and flowing veil, and her bouquet came together with such fluidity that she looked effortlessly radiant, and I don’t think anybody noticed at all. As she approached Richard, it was clear this was a room full of anticipation and so much love.
Sweet touches, such as a board in the main barn which had messages for Emma from her students created an ambient and personal touch and we were lucky enough to capture the most beautiful sunset dipping beautifully over the golden cornfields. Though Emma joked that Richard isn’t quite the ‘insta pro’ husband of yet, she did admit he had seemed to have mastered the veil flick and therefore may hold potential for some good honeymoon pictures in Greece!
As the day continued, together with their guests, they danced the night away as husband and wife to the live band re:cover echoing through the barn. A perfect end to a unique and beautiful day for this lovely couple and one I was so happy to be able to capture for them.
Many, many congratulations to you Emma and Richard, thank you so much for choosing me; I hope all your future days are as magical as this one was.
