I can’t tell you how AMAZING it is to be back doing what I love. Lockdown has been long and hard and I was so fortunate to be able to capture Kat and Joe’s Wedding Day, after the pandemic had previously forced them to postpone.

This lovely couple were married at the beautiful Orangery at Gaynes Park, Essex (think oak beams, light airy rooms and Victorian Walled gardens) and despite the weather forecast, we just about managed to dodge the downpours!

The Ceremony

The couple started their day with an intimate legal ceremony, followed by a religious blessing led by Joe’s Mum, where they were joined by 30 guests. Kat was radiant in a gown by Stella York, with the Groom’s outfit from Moss Bros.

The Reception

After the ceremony the new Mr and Mrs were joined by their guests for a meal in the beautiful barn, where the Best Man, Father of the Bride and Groom all shared their speeches. I always love this part of a wedding as you get to capture so many amazing emotions. I think the abundance of smiling, laughing faces in Kat and Joe’s photographs are a such a great example of that; there really isn’t anything quite like looking back and seeing all your friends and family sharing in your joy!

Evening games

Later on, guests were treated to some games on the lawn. I imagine there may be some kind of copyright on naming them all here, but tumbling blocks anyone…maybe some hoops, or 4 in a row?! Throw in some table tennis and you had yourself the summer garden party of dreams! It was such a fun and unique set up, and along with a little bit of an outdoor dance party, the perfect end to a really lovely day.

So, thank you so much, Kat and Joe, for choosing me to capture and share in your special day. I know it has been an absolute rollercoaster of a year, but watching you (finally!) become husband and wife was a genuinely such a delight. Wishing you both all the love and luck in the world as you begin your married life together… here’s to you!
