The one with Autumn in September

There is something about shooting a wedding of 2 people I've crossed paths with before, like it was always supposed to be, and Beth and Becky absolutely fell into that category. I was recommended to them by a previous couple of mine (which seriously makes me all warm and fuzzy inside, spot them in these images ;D ) and as soon as we met, I knew that I was going to have such a blast photographing their special day!

I’d had the opportunity to meet Beth and Becky’s families prior to the wedding when I did a family shoot for them so it was really lovely to be able to see them again on their big day. Everyone was absolutely buzzing and so excited to see this lovely pair say “I do”.

The ceremony took place at Greenwoods Hotel and Spa, a historic manor which has been beautifully restored and a gorgeous backdrop for their celebrations. Beth and Becky had chosen to keep their outfits a secret from each other (even going so far as to omit it from my questionnaire!) so they got ready separately before both walking down the aisle with their Dads for their outdoor ceremony.

Now, I’m not sure if it’s just me, or if other photographers are living this absolute dream, but it seems to be a real year of dog love out on the wedding circuit! This wedding was no exception with lovely Autumn stealing the show (sorry Beth and Becky, but that level of cuteness is really hard to top!)

I loved seeing how these girls incorporated Autumn into their day. From their reading… “How falling in love is like owning a dog” (go check that one out), to the hidden canine on the cake, to the table names, and of course her guest appearance. Weddings should be filled with those you love most, and dogs are absolutely no exception!

After a summer filled with clouds, seriously, that pretty much sums up 90% of my summer 2021 weddings…the sun made a glorious appearance timed perfectly with their reception before the clouds took over again as they went in for their meal. We still managed to catch a beautiful but fleeting golden hour between a break in the clouds though! Someone must have done a pact with the weather gods and I am certainly not complaining, as the resulting photos were a dream even if I do say so myself!

One of the pieces of advice I give my clients, is to always ensure that after your first dance you have a playlist of 3 really good songs to keep the dance floor full. Now, not everyone heeds my advice but these girls certainly did, and not only that but they upgraded good songs to epic, and gave me the most amazing party shots. I captured so much fun on that dancefloor before eventually leaving the new Mrs and Mrs to party the night away and yet something tells me the real party has only just begun for these two.

I’m so grateful to have captured the start of their journey, and remember girls…
