Lucy & Rich's relaxed farm wedding in Thaxted
Like so many of the weddings scheduled for this year, Lucy & Rich were supposed to get married in 2020. They had so many obstacles thrown in their way from guideline changes, venue changes, DJ & photographer changes (luckily for me!) but it all came together on the HOTTEST day of the year so far for their beautifully relaxed, food and fun filled wedding day
They made use of some incredibly talented friends (just look at those flowers & cake!) with afternoon tea provided by Rich's friends at South Street Pantry, and pizza later on in the evening from Street Dough.
First dances outside in the golden sun can absolutely stay please, just look how gorgeous that setting is, with the sun behind them it truly was just a beautiful moment in a simply perfect wedding day.
I am so thankful that their rather bumpy wedding planning journey crossed paths with mine, it was an absolute pleasure to photograph their wedding and be a part of their day. One I'll remember for years to come!

I've lived in Thaxted for 5 years now and I see this church every single day, my son was christened here! But its taken 5 years to actually shoot a wedding here. I may be bias but it's the most stunning church, full of history and all the events that have come before, it really is something special to be there.
The nearby Priors Hall Farm (home of the BEST sausages in Essex, again may be a tad bias but they really are good) hosted their chilled out wedding reception. With countryside as far as the eye could see it was the perfect spot for a relaxed wedding reception, with afternoon tea, Pimms on tap, marshmallows on the open log fire pit and wheat fields for the most epic golden hour portraits it really was the perfect spot for their celebrations.
Don't get me wrong, while there are so many things I can't wait to see the back of from these strange COVID times, one thing I think should stay is using the outside more. With weather this glorious, where else to do the first dance but out there, in front of the sun as it set in the field behind them. Just perfect! Let's keep that for future please! Just seeing everyone drinking, dancing, sharing pizzas and having the best time was wonderful to see after so long of everyone being apart.
To Lucy & Rich
Thank you so so sooooo much for having me be a part of your wedding. I hope you're as happy as I am for you, that your somewhat stressful journey led you to this finale and that I could be the one to photograph it for you. It was an absolute pleasure to be a part of your friends & family for the day!
