Emily & Mike’s botanical Suffolk marquee wedding
“A sky full of stars and he was staring at her.
Obviously in my profession I am privy to a lot of weddings, and I’m a lucky witness to the start of
many married lives. All of course, are special; but this one in particular felt like a wedding which
celebrated not only love, but also life, and the many memories which had been woven through it, in
its many beautiful forms.
Emily and Mike met at school and with a mutual love of travelling, and a genuine passion and
appreciation for life, it seemed one way or another their paths were always destined to converge.
Their botanical wedding day was a relaxed and family focussed affair, a reflection of the characters
of the bride and groom, and a day highly charged with emotion and with love.
It was filled to the brim with beautiful details and memorable moments, which included a particularly fabulous speech from the groom, which alluded to the current fascination with Love Island. Hearing Mike declare to their loved ones why he’d decided to ‘couple up’ with Emily has to be up there as one of my very
favourite moments of their day!
A beautiful break with tradition saw the bride’s father introduce Emily’s Mum as the speech maker
and a series of pictures referenced her childhood- a perfect tribute to the little girl they had raised
and who today, alongside her new husband, was beginning the latest adventure in her life.
Despite some rainfall as the day progressed, this was a wedding filled with metaphorical sunshine
and as the couple took to the dance floor for their first dance (sung beautifully by one of their
friends) it was hard to remain unmoved by the lyrics…
‘However big, however small
Let me be part of it all
Share your dreams with me
You may be right, you may be wrong
But say that you’ll bring me along’
Emily and Mike, thank you so much for the privilege of capturing your special day. My wish for you
both as you begin married life together, and held in the words of that very first dance, is that you
continue always to share in each other’s hopes and dreams, the big and the small, for there is such
infinite magic in both.
