Spring wedding at Baddow Park House
A Balcony Moment and a Surprise Bagpiper at Baddow Park House
This one was special!
They came to me knowing exactly what they wanted, colour, joy, candid moments, and a day that felt completely like them. From our very first call I could tell these two had thought about every detail, and that carried through into everything about the day itself.
I always talk to couples about carving out moments that will become their favourite memories, the ones that aren't on any timeline, they just happen because you made space for them. Caitlin and Ollie absolutely nailed this. They had a royal wave moment from the Baddow Park balcony, and if you've got a balcony like that you absolutely should be using it. Caitlin's dad drove her to the aisle in his own car, something he'd waited years for, and that alone set the tone for a day that was full of really meaningful, considered details.
They loved the interiors of Baddow Park so we made sure to take proper time with them for photos, and the house really delivered. That staircase, the wallpaper, the light through those windows. It all added something really beautiful to the gallery alongside the outdoor shots.
Carl from SixEight joined me on the day to capture the film alongside the photography, and my second shooter Chloe was with me too. Together we got to witness an April golden hour that was genuinely one of the best I've seen. And then, just as the evening got going, a surprise bagpiper appeared as a nod to Caitlin's Scottish roots. The guests absolutely loved it.
These two had thought about every single detail, and it showed in every part of the day.
"Sophie was the perfect photographer to capture our special day. We knew we wanted a photographer who could capture all the colour and candid joy of the day and Sophie fully delivered. She was the first supplier we chose after our venue and we are so pleased we managed to get her. From our very first call together, she understood our vision, reassuring us with her encouragement for our ideas. Her generous advice and experience even helped us shape our team for the day.
On the day, Sophie was so much more than a photographer, helping the day flow seamlessly alongside the venue team. She was always on hand when we needed something, often even preempting it, but expertly gave us and our guests space to freely enjoy the day. She and her lovely second shooter Chloe made everyone feel so comfortable in front of their cameras, and we ourselves had so much fun posing for our couple photos with them.
A selection of our photos were even ready and posted the very next day and we were immediately stunned by how Sophie had immortalised our wedding with a mix of natural snaps and grand artistic pictures. When the full gallery was delivered just a few weeks later, we were even more amazed at how they had managed to capture the big moments so beautifully while giving the smallest interactions the same level of care, allowing us to experience the day from so many new joyful perspectives.
We cannot thank Sophie enough for all her hard work, which we will treasure forever."
