Bonnie & Sam's Spring Wedding at Woodhall Manor, Suffolk
Bonnie and Sam brought together family and friends from Ireland to Australia, and from the moment everyone arrived it was clear this was going to be one of those days. The kind where you just feel it everywhere. Every single person there was so genuinely, warmly, completely full of love for this couple. It was one of the most beautiful things I've ever witnessed at a wedding and I'm not sure I'll forget it in a hurry.
The ceremony was held in the Woodhall Manor dovecote, which is just the most beautiful setting, and Bonnie set the tone perfectly when she got to the top of the aisle, looked at Sam and said "Hi, I'm Bonnie, nice to meet you." That tells you everything about who they are and the kind of day it was going to be.
The details at this wedding were genuinely some of the most creative I've seen. Each long table had a bottle of champagne locked at the end, and every guest had a keyring favour with a key attached. Only one key opened the bottle. Brilliant. And the speeches brought possibly the best best man gift I've ever witnessed. Sam's best man had become one of Bonnie's closest friends over the years, and the two of them have a long running tradition of sending each other a daily joke over WhatsApp, themed by season, with enough material accumulated between them that they jokingly said they could fill a book. So that's exactly what he did. He had it printed, presented a copy to Bonnie and kept one for himself, then auctioned off the third copy to the guests during the speeches, with the proceeds going straight to the honeymoon fund. The room absolutely loved it.
From there it was pure celebration. Live music in the sunshine, garden games, drinks flowing, a confetti moment with a brilliant little twist on the usual format, and a dancefloor that did not stop. Ties on heads by song three.
Woodhall Manor in May with a guest list like that and weather like that is something else. I feel incredibly lucky to have been part of it.
